Reading Package

Zero Kilogrammes!

Zero Kilogrammes!

I'm going to put together a package of links for you to read, watch, listen and thus learn about various topics, centered around current affairs, self-improvement, economics and probably knowledge in general. I'm hoping I would be able to put together one package each week for students to enjoy over each weekend during this holidays period. The packages will expose you to a wide variety of information, ideas and insights on reality.

This week, we start with a wonderfully humorous and insightful talk by Rory Sutherland on TED.com. In Lessons from an Ad Man, Rory sends audience into wave after wave of laughter and applause as he explains his ridiculous and weird but often bizarrely sensible proposition about how we should try and increase the intrinsic intangible value of things in our world.

Next, on the business and finance news, Nokia sued Apple regards to patent infringement and tries to demand a compensation that Apple is unwilling to fork out. For more regarding how the Intellectual Property landscape is changing, you might like to check out The Economist article Trolls demanding tolls.

Finally, make yourself a cup of coffee and find out about doing businesses in top cities of the world through an audio series by The Economist starting from Doing Business in London. For a leisure read on business matters in the software field, after your audio and coffee, check out Fortune Magazine's coverage of the Microsoft's Revamped via the release of Windows 7.

Enjoy the weekends!
